STEP ONE
Be Saved and Know It
*If there has never been a time when you have trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, STOP HERE, do not go any further until you have your salvation settled. Click Here to learn more on The Truth About Eternity.*
Salvation is a fact and not a feeling.
1 John 5:11-12, "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."
John 5:24, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."
Have you believed on Christ and received Him into your life as Saviour by calling upon Him? If not, click here to learn how you can know where you will spend eternity. If you have already done so, then you are saved according to the Bible.
Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Being saved means:
1. Your sin is forgiven (Psalm 103:12)
2. Your father is God (John 1:12)
3. Your hope is heaven (Eph 2:5-7; 2 Cor 5:8)
4. Your future is bright (Rev 20:4)
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
According to John 3:16, What kind of life did you receive when you accepted Christ as your Saviour? Everlasting Life! That settles it. You are saved forever.
STEP TWO
Be Baptized
Every believer is to be baptized immediately after being saved. You will not grow in your Christian life until you take this next step.
Acts 2:41 "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:"
1. Baptism is a PREREQUISITE
Everyone who believes in and receives Christ is required to be baptized.
The Bible examples of baptism following salvation are many.
A.) The Ethiopian Eunuch (Acts 8:36-38) B.) The Apostle Paul (Acts 9:18) C.) The Philippian Jailor (Acts 16:33)
2. Baptism is a PRIVILEGE
Jesus, our Lord, was baptized and we have the privilege of following in his steps. (Matt 3:16-17).
3. Baptism is a PICTURE
a) It pictures Christ's death, burial and resurrection.
b) It pictures your death in Christ and new life as a result.
Romans 6:4 "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: ... even so we also should walk in newness of life."
STEP THREE
Join and Attend Church
Ephesians 4:11-14 “ And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, … That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;”
1. Church is a FAMILY
When you join a church, you become a part of the family. As you continue to attend faithfully, you will surely understand a sense of belonging. By participating in the Bible classes you will find fellowship and friendship.
2. Church is a NECESSITY
Do you understand the Bible? Do you know your purpose for living? Does your life please God? Church is where you get the answers to these questions. Each service the Bible is taught and presented in a way that enables you to apply its truths to your life. Without the church you will be unsettled, confused and misguided concerning the most important issues of life. Everyone needs a church.
3. Church is a PRIVILEGE
Church is a place where you will learn more about Christ and be given and opportunity to express your love for Him through service to Him.
STEP FOUR
Get Discipled and Grow
2 Peter 3:18 “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
God’s will and plan for every believer is that they grow up strong in their faith. You are to know Jesus Christ better today than you did yesterday, but that will only happen if you exercise yourself in spiritual matters.
1 Timothy 4:7 “… But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.”
How do you do this? You must find the truth, learn it and then apply it to your life.
John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
The Bible is the truth, so you must learn the Bible.
•Read it daily
•Memorize scripture
•Attend every church service
•Join Discipleship classes at Community Baptist Temple
Discipleship is a one-on-one instruction that will help you grow in biblical knowledge and give you an opportunity to ask questions and get answers. These classes will enable you to grow faster, stronger and consistently in your walk of faith.

Be a Witness
2 Corinthians 5:20 “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”
Your Life
As God’s child you are His ambassador and representative. Live your life in a way that visibly reflects the view and values of the Kingdom of God. While representing Christ each day, you should not curse, drink or live like you used to, but instead, live like the Christian that you now are.
Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Let the world see the change that God has brought about in your life. Not only are we supposed to be a witness with our life, but also with our lips.
Your Lips
The Gospel is bound in a a book. Most will never open that book enough to learn about the salvation that you now posses. The only way they will hear the Gospel story is if you tell them. Tell your family, friends and neighbors what God has done for you. Let them know that Jesus died for them and that He will save them as well. Be sure to invite them to come to church with you.
Literature Good Gospel tracts, church inviations, booklets and pamplets that exalt Christ and instruct Biblical matters can be a tremendous tool in evengelism and edification. Pass them out to others and use them as opportunities to follow-up and win others to Christ. |
